1. I have an etsy store! It doesn't have much in it, but I hope you will go by and visit my shop and just "favorite" it. Here is the LINK. I plan to expand in time. I started out with some items from a few years ago that I want to sell because I no longer do those projects. Then I added my NEW item, which I am having fun making! Check it out! (Oh, and if you are wondering why the photo of the old houses on the mountainside, it is one of my favorite shots from our trip to Colorado, and well, we will be leaving the desert for more mountainous views soon....AND the picture of "me" shown from my profile is actually a rag doll I made for a child in our church when she went to the hospital. May make another one later for sale.)
3. What we all need to do....
Do you have an Advance Directive on file to show what you would want done if you were incapacitated?
Do you have a Durable Power of Attorney so you can take over for your spouse in case you need to?
Do you have adequate life insurance on you and your spouse?
Do you have a file set up so your children (or other survivors) can find all these things easily and know what to do? Do you have a will? Have you written down your wishes for your funeral? Wishes for special items to go to certain loved ones?
Most people don't like to think too much about these things and will put them off indefinitely. What happened to us this week reminded me that it isn't a good idea to put these things off. This is a nudge...if you are putting things off. I am just as guilty as the next person....lets make this a top priority!
4. Recently my Mom posted on facebook an old commercial my sister was in back when she was modeling. It was so much fun to see it again! That's her in the black dress, and again at the end, twirling around....
5. Just tried to get some photos from my phone, and accidentally erased them, so I don't have a number 5....oh well! :-) Hope you all have a great week.
Connecting with Tanya's Willy Nilly Friday Five, Amy's Five on Friday and Cath's Friday Fun Favorites....thanks to each host!

You reminded me of how much I enjoyed Lilies of the Field. Also, such good advice about advance planning. It is so easy to keep putting off such important obligations.
A very nice post, Marie. Love the ornament and yes, I will check out your etsy. Susan finding that old commercial of hers was so cool... it was a Super Bowl Commercial by when. I know you are going to miss Cane but now you can really get busy and pack up your duds and head to the northwest!
You've given us some good advice! And I'm off to see your new shop and put it in my favs! Hugs, Diane
The commercial...."A STAR is Born"!!! Cool.
And yes, love the movie Lilies of the Field...never read the book tho.
And living wills, etc. You don't wanna do it, but in all reality, it's definitely a must for everyone at ANY age.
Awwwwwwww, mountains again. I bet you're really looking forward to the move.
I went over and Liked!
Hubby and I also already have our "plots" bought...uggg

Yes, Lilies of the Field is so wonderful! Hope you enjoy your new home soon. Congratulations on your Etsy shop!
So glad you have opened an Etsy.......good luck! I love Lilies of the Field!
We are in the process of making everything legal and our wishes known, not a pleasant task but like you said a necessity. Take care.
Will add Lilies of the field to my list, thanks for that. Good luck with etsy, I keep thinking about opening up, maybe one day and as to the nudge, I need it, best put that near the top of my list...
Congrats on the Etsy shop. I'm thinking of opening one in the future. Hope it goes well. I love the bee ornament. It's lovely.
Have a great weekend
I loved Lilies of the Field! I should read it again. Good luck with the move. Yes, I have all the directives. Your ornaments are wonderful ... congratulations and good luck with your Easy shop.
Greetings dear friend Marie. I'll be sure to check out your Etsy shop. I've never seen Lilies of the Field, but the book sounds very interesting. That was great info that you shared in regard to wills, etc. It's important to have and also to share with your children. You've reminded me that I do need to update a few things. I hope your preparation for your move is coming along. Thanks again for visiting my blog and your sweet words. Enjoy your weekend, Pat xx
#1 I always wanted to have an etsy store, perhaps in my next life.
#2 I'm not much of a reader.
#3 I'm going to live forever.
#4 Times sure change.
#5 No phone camera for me.
I hope that you enjoy your shop and that all will be well with your move planning and preparation. You are right about the advance planning, good advice. Thank you for your support of Five On Friday, I so appreciate it!!! Have a great weekend! xx
Good advice, we've done some of those things and need to do more. Saw the movie Lilies of the Field many years ago.
Hi Marie, I have not read that book - or seen the movie, so I will have to search it out. Congrats on your Etsy shop! I am so glad to hear that your hubby is going to be o.k. You must have been so frantic.....Sending prayers for full recovery. You have much to do with your move - I do hope that you get some help with that. I am also glad to hear that you are moving to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. You will have to adjust to the weather, coming from Tucson. There are a lot of gray days in winter, but the temperatures are mild. And you will be near your grandson, and that is always special. I am so behind on blogging and visiting - seems like I can't catch up with life lately. Good advice on getting things in order, such as a will, etc. We do have that in place, but still need to get details worked out as far as burial and inheritance. Life is so unpredictable. Take care of yourself as you take care of that dear husband of yours. Hugs xo Karen
