I appreciate your visit so much, and wish I could read what you have to say, but something is going on with my computer, and until I can get the issue addressed, this may continue. Please keep visiting! Also, often I cannot make a comment on some posts I look at, particularly those who ask for me to show I am a guest. I have noticed sometimes someone can only comment in the "Reply" section of another comment...if that's all that works, then that's fine! Let's keep visiting no matter what happens, and know we are touching each other with our creativity and thoughts and images even when we can't get (or leave) feedback. God bless you my dear blogger friends!

Chasing Baby Ducks!

I was sitting at the machine sewing and looked out the window...and what did I see but five baby ducks!  They were waddling down my Mom's driveway, with no sight of the Mama duck.  I grabbed my camera and yelled for my hubby to join me.  Out we went to hopefully catch this little entourage in a few pictures.  It was just too amazing that they were here!  There is NO water anywhere close to Mom's house!  I couldn't imagine where the little things had come from!  It was just so lucky we went outside, because no, no Mama duck in sight....but here following them was one of the neighborhood cats!!!!  We chased the cat away and I suggested my hubby run get a box to put the ducklings in since their Mother was apparently quite gone.  While he was back at the house, I made a feeble attempt to protect the five little balls of fluff.  Only, to them I was just another big monster trying to eat them!  They ran (and boy are those little guys fast!) in five different directions!

To my dismay two of them headed across the street!  The other three I managed to corner next to the neighbors house.  Well, it wasn't long before they gave me the slip!  Away they went into the ground-cover, and slipped behind some bushes!

Three little ducklings on a mission!

Around on the other side of the neighbor's house, I finally spotted Mama duck!  My husband had arrived with a pet crate by that time, but we knew now we wouldn't be needing it.  The problem was, we had to go find those other two little guys who had taken off across the street.  So we shooed the three toward Mama, and went after the other two.  We managed to get them across the street, but they couldn't even jump up onto the curb, and needed help.  Finally they were back in the part of the yard with the others.  My husband and I stood there a while, listening to the peeps and quacks as they all communicated.  Sure at last that they were all OK, we left them and went back to Mom's.  I just hope and pray that cat stayed away, and maybe they found a new home close by. It was satisfying getting the little family back together!  All in a Day's Work!
