Psalm 19:1--The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork.

I wish to apologize to anyone who may be having trouble making comments on my posts. I appreciate your visit so much, and wish I could read what you have to say, but something is going on with my computer, and until I can get the issue addressed, this may continue. Please keep visiting! Also, often I cannot make a comment on some posts I look at, particularly those who ask for me to show I am a guest. I have noticed sometimes someone can only comment in the "Reply" section of another comment...if that's all that works, then that's fine! Let's keep visiting no matter what happens, and know we are touching each other with our creativity and thoughts and images even when we can't get (or leave) feedback. God bless you my dear blogger friends!

Bee Ornament & Lilies of the Field

Oh to get on to more pleasant things!  I have been looking forward to throwing myself into getting ready for the move, full force!  :-)  And there are some other things we all must do (hubby's recent heart incident makes this all to vivid!)  Our wonderful grandson leaves on the plane tomorrow after a two month stay, and now it will be about getting us to Oregon, too!

1.  I have an etsy store!  It doesn't have much in it, but I hope you will go by and visit my shop and just "favorite" it.  Here is the LINK.  I plan to expand in time.  I started out with some items from a few years ago that I want to sell because I no longer do those projects.  Then I added my NEW item, which I am having fun making! Check it out! (Oh, and if you are wondering why the photo of the old houses on the mountainside, it is one of my favorite shots from our trip to Colorado, and well, we will be leaving the desert for more mountainous views soon....AND the picture of "me" shown from my profile is actually a rag doll I made for a child in our church when she went to the hospital.  May make another one later for sale.)

These ornaments were inspired by a project I had a hand in for the Quilt Guild over a year ago...we were making squares to be put in a quilt to sell to support a group of women in Africa who wanted to start keeping bees.  The quilt turned out great, and I adjusted the pattern for the sunflower so I could make these ornaments.  They are two for $12. and can be used as Christmas or Easter ornaments, but also as zipper pulls on backpacks, and to hang from a window shade pull or on a rearview mirror.  On the back it says "Save the Bees"...and that's the idea, to promote awareness that our pollinators are endangered!  I just really liked the design and may use this idea on other items as well.
2.  Have you ever read The Lilies of the Field by William E. Barrett?  Or seen the movie with Sidney Poitier?  If you have not, I highly recommend them both!  The book is small, so if you aren't much of a reader, it will not weigh you down.  But it is a GEM!  And the movie was so excellent as well.  I read the book and saw the movie many years ago, but recently returned to the book, just out of the sheer joy of it!  You won't be disappointed!

3.  What we all need to do....

Do you have an Advance Directive on file to show what you would want done if you were incapacitated?

Do you have a Durable Power of Attorney so you can take over for your spouse in case you need to?

Do you have adequate life insurance on you and your spouse?

Do you have a file set up so your children (or other survivors) can find all these things easily and know what to do?  Do you have a will?  Have you written down your wishes for your funeral?  Wishes for special items to go to certain loved ones?

Most people don't like to think too much about these things and will put them off indefinitely.  What happened to us this week reminded me that it isn't a good idea to put these things off.  This is a nudge...if you are putting things off.  I am just as guilty as the next person....lets make this a top priority!

4. Recently my Mom posted on facebook an old commercial my sister was in back when she was modeling.  It was so much fun to see it again!  That's her in the black dress, and again at the end, twirling around....

5.  Just tried to get some photos from my phone, and accidentally erased them, so I don't have a number 5....oh well! :-)  Hope you all have a great week.

Connecting with Tanya's Willy Nilly Friday Five, Amy's Five on Friday  and Cath's Friday Fun Favorites....thanks to each host!
