I wish to apologize to anyone who may be having trouble making comments on my posts. I appreciate your visit so much, and wish I could read what you have to say, but something is going on with my computer, and until I can get the issue addressed, this may continue. Please keep visiting! Also, often I cannot make a comment on some posts I look at, particularly those who ask for me to show I am a guest. I have noticed sometimes someone can only comment in the "Reply" section of another comment...if that's all that works, then that's fine! Let's keep visiting no matter what happens, and know we are touching each other with our creativity and thoughts and images even when we can't get (or leave) feedback. 1. In late May spring has come to us at last, and we saw the Scotch Broom (Cytisus scoparius) everywhere...along hillsides and in fields and people's yards, and even in the mountains. It's invasive but incredibly beautiful!!!! There were also wonderfully abundant rhododendron (and even azaleas) in all colors, both in the woods and in people's yards. I wish I'd gotten more photos of them.

I was very upset. One of the things I wanted to do as we traveled up the Oregon Coast was not possible. My sil had told us about a Sea Cave that was as big as a football field and tall as a 16 story building, that was filled with Sea Lions. We picked up a brochure at the Visitor Center and it said there was an elevator to get down into the cave, so I was sure we would be able to do this. My husband is 100% disabled and has to have a mobility scooter for excursions, or a cane for shorter distances, and we imagined parking our vehicle, going into the building and then into the elevator to get to enjoy this treat. I also have bad knees and back and chronic fatigue syndrome so this was going to be do-able for me as well. Well....we got there, and the parking lot in front of the building was completely full. Alternate parking across highway 101 was up a hill. There was no "shuttle" from there to the building for the disabled. You had to walk. When we asked the attendants at that lot for information we were told that we'd have to wait for a handicapped space to open up at the building, and also that there are 37 steps down to GET to the elevator! We were crushed! I wanted to do this so badly, I actually teared up over it. It was a HUGE disappointment!
For Eileen's Saturday's Critters I will share with you what we did see....In Charleston, earlier that day (and south of where we were at this point) we HAD seen some Sea Lions, and these were going to be our only ones for this trip. My photos are very bad because the fog/mist was so thick and the distance to the rocks where they were hanging out was pretty great, but at least we saw (and heard!) them. Plus, there was this mystery bird on one of the rocks. I'm pretty sure it must have been a Brandts Cormorant but it sure looked mystical sitting there on the rock. Anyway, here are my photos....
When I zoom out too much I get this black spot in the corner...not sure why!
He looks like a Phoenix or some other fanciful bird!
For Mersad's Through My Lens and Susan's Outdoor Wednesday I continue with our trip...These first two photos were taken at the overlook where we watched the sea lions (will be on an upcoming post) in Charleston, Oregon near Coos Bay.
